Manage Your Creative Flow–Clutter Has to Go! by Niambi Jaha-Echols

Clearing out clutter in your physical space also clears out clutter in your spiritual space.

Clearing out clutter in your physical space also clears out clutter in your spiritual space.

Have you ever noticed that the more organized you are the better you feel? There is a definite connection between our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Sometimes, when you feel blocked, overwhelmed and uncreative, making simple shifts and changes in your environment can mean a lot. When you are unable to think, and you feel trapped and uninspired, check and make sure that your environment isn’t contributing to your mood. (Now I know that sometimes we aren’t the ones making the mess, but do the best you can with the space that you are truly responsible for.)

There is an old saying, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness,” and that is really true. What happens on the outside affects what goes on inside. Cleanliness helps to keep all your lines of communication open and clear. Clearing out clutter in your physical space also clears out clutter in your spiritual space.

Have you ever said or felt like, “I need some space so that I can clear my head.” When things are loud, confusing, chaotic or cluttered, it’s hard to think straight and it creates much stress. It’s like trying to hear your favorite song on the radio when the room is full of people talking, and the radio is not completely on the station, so there is lots of static.

You have an internal radio inside of you. We are constantly picking up on or tuning in to the messages in the air. Have you ever experienced hearing a song in your head and before you have the opportunity to sing or hum the tune out loud, the person you are with begins singing it? The universe is continuously broadcasting messages to us as well. Just because you can’t hear it, doesn’t mean that music isn’t playing – you’re just not tuned in to the right frequency or station.

When you need some divine inspiration, you have to tune your internal radio to the right station and take time to listen.Cleaning up helps you think straight and helps you open up for new ideas to flow through. Don’t constipate your spiritual flow with physical stuff that needs to go!
