Did you know you are the “temple” of God? If you “keep it classy”, you will enjoy more of His presence. Watch the presentation to learn four ways to dedicate your “temple” so your light can shine. When your light burns bright, you draw people to Christ.
One: Live like you are the “Temple” of the living God.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20, New King James Version – 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
God is living inside you, so do not defile the temple–that will mess up your worship service with God.
Two: Are you bowing down to something other than the Lord?
1 Corinthians 10:13-15, New King James Version – 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say.
You can resist. If you have failed in the past, just repent and rededicate yourself to God. (1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.)
Three: Fill your lamp with the oil of the Holy Spirit.
John 4:23-25, New King James Version – 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
God is seeking those who worship Him in spirit and in truth.
Four: Be a wise virgin–This is not the time to have “spiritual burn-out”.
Remember the Parable of the Ten Virgins—Five were wise and five were foolish (Read Matthew 25:1-13).
Matthew 25:1-4, New King James Version – “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Get your oil from the Holy Spirit and guard it. Ask the Lord to refresh your oil if you are burning out. Do not waste your oil on those who are not willing to prepare for the Bridegroom. Instead, pray that the Lord will help them prepare their hearts for His return and direct them to the Lord.
Luke 11:10-15, New King James Version – 11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Get oil from the Holy Spirit and Let Your Light Shine!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16, King James Version
